Dr. Aaron Drevlow joined Stillwater Area Public Schools in 2008. He is the Assistant Principal for the Red Pony Student Center, serving students with last names beginning with A-Ha. Before joining Stillwater, Aaron was a substitute/summer Custodian in ISD279 Osseo Public Schools, tenured Language Arts Teacher in the South St. Paul School District, Principal at Minnesota Business Academy, and Executive Director at Great River School.
Aaron is a dedicated athlete and coach, completing the 2002 Ironman Wisconsin (2.6 mile swim, 116 mile bike, and marathon) in sub 12 hours. His marathon best is 2:41:15 which he completed in 2014 at Grandma's Marathon. He has also served as Expedition Leader on several occasions, including Mt. McKinley, Alaska (2001), Pico De Orizaba, Mexico (2003) and Huascaran Sur, Peru (2004). Aaron was nominated by St. Paul Suburban Athletic Conference as Cross Country Coach of the Year (1998).
Aaron's professional accomplishments include earning B.S., M.A., and Ed.D. degrees, formal Montessori training through NAMTA as well as his Principal Licensure. In his most recent position at Great River School, his leadership led to an International Baccalaureate authorization in 2007 (the first Charter School in Minnesota to gain Diploma Program Status). The school also won a Minnesota Department of Education School Finance Award (2006,07,08). He has presented at the Chicago North American Montessori Teachers Association National Convention on the topic of International Baccalaureate (2006) and was the Senior class nominated staff graduation speaker for South Saint Paul Senior High School (1999).
