Reinventing Our Schools for the Future

Great things are happening in Stillwater Area Public Schools as a result of Vision 2014. In the first two years of implementation of our strategic plan we reduced class sizes in targeted areas at our secondary schools; hired math and reading specialists to help elementary students; re-prioritized spending to align with the strategic plan, reduced future spending and created efficiencies; and developed personalized academic plans to help secondary students plan for their high school course of study and two years of post-secondary education.

And we’re not finished yet! Even more great things will be accomplished in Year 3 (2012-2013).

Here’s just a sample of what’s in store for the coming year:

  • Implement science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) program in grades K-12

  • Increase online and blended learning classes

  • Provide more opportunities for students to engage in civic involvement/service learning

  • Implement an anti-bullying program

  • Increase parent/teacher conferences and provide more regular progress reports

  • Provide support to English Language Learner families

Remember, Vision 2014 is a long-range strategic plan. It will continue to evolve and change, and you can continue to help us shape our future. We look forward to working with you toward achieving Vision 2014.
