Jeans and Jewels, one of the premier fundraising events in the St. Croix Valley, is anticipating another sellout for its seventh annual gala on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at The Prom Center in Oakdale.
Jeans and Jewels is a fundraiser for The Partnership Plan, the educational fund for Stillwater Area Public Schools. Proceeds from the event will enhance enrichment and innovation in the classroom through grants to the district’s 9,000+ students.
The fun-filled evening will include two auctions, a three-course gourmet dinner and an after-party in the Pony Club where Crimson Horizon, a trio of Stillwater Area High School students, will perform.
This year will include a special funding opportunity to support the second phase of the high school’s Fabrication Laboratory, an integral component of STEM learning. All donations made to the Fabrication Laboratory will be matched dollar-for-dollar made possible by a grant from the Hubbard Foundation. Last year, over $30,000 was raised before the match.
The Stillwater Area School community has embraced this highly anticipated event. Last year, almost 400 guests from Afton to Marine-on-St. Croix attended. According to Laura Fredericks, executive director, “People are concerned about funding in our schools. The money raised at this event can help provide all our students with a richer learning experience."
The Partnership Plan has raised more than $4.5 million since its inception in 1989. Jeans and Jewels provides community members an opportunity to celebrate, support and invest in the long standing tradition of academic excellence in Stillwater Area Public Schools.
