ARE YOU TAKING THE CHALLENGE?

That seems to be the question being asked in the hallways, classrooms, teacher's lounge, cafeteria and main office at Oak-Land Junior High. More than 275 students, 35 staff members and some parents at Oak-Land Junior High have committed to TAKING THE CHALLENGE - a program designed to help people become more physically active!

The Challenge was initiated by teachers in the Physical Education and Technology departments, and further inspired and supported by an organization that reaches out to schools to educate, inspire and empower students. On February 18, the organization, impossible2Possible, will begin the Expreso de los Andes Expedition with the purpose of educating, inspiring and empowering administrators, teachers and students to take on a health and physical activity challenge. World class ultra-marathoners Ray Zahab and Kevin Vallely will attempt to run 2,000 KM across South America from Concón, Chile to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Running with them will be Oak-Land students, teachers and parents as they take the impossible2Possible challenge in their health and phy. ed. classes. Students and staff will be challenged to complete the eight week training program and reach their own goals.

We encourage you all to join us across the district and community and TAKE THE CHALLENGE! For more info, please visit: http://impossible2possible.com.
